Fillet steak on the barbecue. Is there any need to marinate before cooking?
If so what is a good one.

wine, soy sauce, heaps of chopped garlic and ginger and chopped onions. Easy and simple and always a winner! 12 hours soaking, and turning when ya remember!

Yup..I'm with patxyz..Big knob of garlic butter on BBQ, couple sprigs of rosemary and steak on top with sprinkle of salt and grind of pepper... When ready to turn, repeat the process.. dont overcook... let rest...done !!!

Season(salt&pepper) before cooking, bring to room temp and cook on grill part to how you like it. Best rare to med/rare. Definatley dont need a heavy marinade. Maybe garlic or mushroom sauce when served.

I would definitely not marinade - fillet steak does not need to be tenderised - it is a lovely cut.
