Hello...just wondering if anyone can recommend a tried and trusted cook book on Japanese food...more for every day cooking than for special occasions...Thanks in advance :-)

"Japanese Cooking" by Emi Kazuko with recipes by Yasuko Fukuoka.

Mine came from Borders in Auckland and was on a special for $11.95 a few years ago. Well illustrated with a large section of the book (in middle section) of what is in a Japanese Kitchen. The first section gives details (briefly) on history and Traditions, basic equipment and the final section of recipes.

ISBN 1-84309-477-0

Edited to add - all is in well written English.

Cheers.

Looked at that link above and one could think that the Japanese - Korean Cookbook would be worthy to get hold of.

This is based on the one that I have re Japanese Cooking as noted per my post.

Also, a close friend of mine in Auckland is Japanese and is married to a Korean, although their languages are totally different, they do love one anothers recipes.

Hopes this helps and that one can see the sense as such.

Cheers.
