Brain freeze - SIL coming for lunch - easy easy

duckmoon, Feb 1, 8:12am
SIL & BIL are coming for lunch - with their daughter, Son-in-law and two grandchildren (aged 6 & 4)...
together with hubby and I and our kids (aged 9 & 6).

I am having a brain freeze as to what to serve.

They are Aussie (God bless them) - so something which has a kiwi twist would be good... but not necessary.

Was talking with SIL yesterday and she said "lets just get takeaways, so it is easy for everyone"...

Personally, I think that an easy lunch made by me would be better!

Ideas are invited.

Chicken nibbles, couple of salads, chips (for the kidlets), garlic bread, platter of cheeses & crackers, fresh fruit platter - melon, pineapple etc. Maybe a sweet dish of cheesecake or meringues or pav(real Kiwi)

A simple Greek salad looks impressive but is easy - and for added effect you can fry the feta in squares before you put it in - added crispy deliciousness!

do you make hand made bread?

Add crushed linseed, sunflower, pumpkin seeds, kibbled wheat etc:) Always a winner here. The time is the waiting for it to rise! Buns or loaf is good! mmMmm fresh hand made bread!

Impossible scones toos!
