Best way to keep avocado for longevity

Do I remove the stone from the half I'm not using and do I wrap it in plastic wrap or foil or something?

Thanks

Have had the pleasure of meeting a few Mexican tourists lately and they say leave the pip in to stop browning. According the them in Mexico the pips are left in guacamole for this reason, lemon juice is never used. It cetainly worked in the guacamole they made for us. It's exposure to air that makes them go brown, lemon juice over the cut surface or gladwrap would also work. I usually just turn mine cut side down in a container.

I have these handy little silicone caps. I slice my avocado on the round, rather than the traditional lengthwise. When I get down to the pip I remove it. After each cut, I re-cover with the little cap and it works perfectly. You can buy them at shows. They are as cheap as chips and come in a selection of sizes so they work great over bowls and other similar dishes that don't traditionally come with covers. I also use them over other cut vegetables and fruit.

Saves on Gladwrap and saves the environment.
