I use the Danish method - put in a whole almond just before turning out and whoever gets the almond gets a small gift, a notebook or something that will suit any age group.

i was blessed with sixpences from my natural dad - i boil them for about 20 min, let them dry and then they are aok.. i also use 5 cent pieces and do the same thing... always lovely to find them tucked in there...just don't be like the boys from the vicar of dibley who put 5 pound notes in the puds lol...

or soak them for a while in vodka or gin, the alcohol should kill any bugs!

I always soak $1 or $2 coins in a glass of full sugar coke overnight - they come out lovely and shiny!!!
