Absolutly...my whole family loves them (from the 9yr old up)
1 cup grated tasty cheese 1/2 cup chopped ham 1/2 cup semi dried tomatoes ( I used sun dried tomatoes, worked great) 2 cups self raising flour 30g butter (I used a tad more...heehee) 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves salt and pepper 1 cup milk
Oven 220
In small bowl combine cheese, ham & tomatoes
sift flour into large bowl, add butter and rub, stir in hopped basil, salt & pepper. Make a well in center , pour in milk ( leaving a tablespoon aside to brush on top before putting in oven) Using a knife , mix quickly to a soft sticky dough(don't over mix)
Turn on to flour surface and knead lightly.
Press or roll to a 20x30cm rectangle, scatter cheese, ham , tomato mix across the top over dough then roll up in to a log.
Cut into 2cm thick slices and place on a dusted oven tray, brush the tops with the spare milk and bake for 15 min until golden brown, and then cool.
You can also try tuna instead of ham.... Yum!
Hope you enjoy them! merry xmas!
