ive got some of both but never cooked or used them and im going to make some curried mince.will either of these be nice in it?

The lentils will go OK in the mince but I would cook the blackeyed peas separately. BE peas are a delicious pulse, don't take much cooking and can be used to make a curry without meat. Madhur Jafferiesmakes one with a tin of tomatoes, spices such as coriander, tumeric, cumin and chilli and onions, celery, mushrooms with lots and lots of fresh coriander added at the end of the cooking. Serve on rice.
Remember, all pulses require soaking first to help nuetralise the agglutinin. Throw away the soaking water and cook in fresh water. Also do not add salt until they have become soft or they will stay hard.
