I want to make some for christmas but the ones I made last time spread and didn't look like the shape I had made. Does anyone have a great recipe that holds its shape? TIA

most sugur cookie recipes work

secret is to chill the dough before rolling and cutting

here the recipe on the back of some dinosaur cookie cutters i havent opened yet

1 egg
225grm butter
200grams of sugar
1 teaspoon of baking powder
2tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon of vinilla
285grams of flour

mix first six ingredients with beater untill fluffy, gradually stir in flour by hand until well mixed. chill 2 to 3 hours in fridge until firm enough to roll out with rolling pin. preheat oven to 200c. cut out your cookies and place cookies on bakingsheet, bake for 6 to 10 minutes and ice when cold.

I use the sheets of ready rolled sweet short pastry. Stays in shape and easy peasy.
Whoops posted twice.
