is slow cooked homely food!all this, rush, rush, quick, quick, timer's on, stuff...what happened to lovely slow food...
I am just eating my pea and ham soup (Pease Pudding).Takes a while (make it yesterday) is best eaten the day after, and is unctuous and delicious

Masterchef is an entertainment show.Slow cooking is not entertaining and it would hardly push the skills of the contestants.Would you watch it if they all made homely casseroles and soups that took several hours?
