What is used to give tandoori chicken the red colouring that it has. I followed a recipe posted here and that said to use paprika but that didn't give it any red at all.

Indian food markets sell red colouring.I don't use it as there are thought to be health risks attached to various food colourings.It makes no difference to the taste.

I use red food colouring.Also have a chicken marinade that calls for 2 drops of this too.Gives a luscious colour instead of brown.What harm can 2 drops do?

indian food shops have a red powder that u only use 1/4 tsp for colouring, its only about $5 for a tin and lasts you about 5 years. gives an authentic look!
