Cooking rice

Know it's been done heaps, but is it 1c rice to 1&1/2c water. Bring to boil with lid on then reduce heat till water has evaporated?

I think it might have been 1 cup rice to 1¼ cups water.

I use 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water. Microwave 15 mins and fluff up with a fork.

Managed to burn bottom of saucepan. Will try gilligee's microwave next time.

For white rice, i just put it in a microwave proof jug and put about an inch of water over the top of the rice. (fill it up till the water is an inch above the rice).

Cover with glad wrap and microwave for 20 minutes. Always comes out perfect

I do mine the same way, but I add a tsp of chicken stock and 1 tsp butter, same quantities as above, but I cook on full power for 10mins stir and cook for a further 4 mins, soft fluffy and easy............
