No Castor sugar..... can i use

normal sugar instead, or will the recipe flop?? i'm making cupcakes and can't find a recipe with normal sugar in it........ help me if you can, thanks :)

If you use ordinary sugar you will need to cream the butter and sugar a lot longer so that the sugar dissolves.Otherwise give the sugar a whizz in a food processor to make the particles smaller.

Have a Cupcake calendar & only recipe that doesn't use Castor Sugar is Carrot Cupcakes.

I just put it in my mortar and ground it a little,but I know friends who have used normal sugar successfully.

Throw it in a food processor, it will make it finer. I only ever use caster sugar for everything as it dissolves far more quickly and is great in jams, giving a much clearer jam.
