Help Please! Making Marshmallow

HiI am trying to make marshmallow for the first time. It looks set to me, however, when I cut shapes out, it is damp underneath with maybe a couple of mls of syrupy liquid in the bottom of the tin.
Is this because I didn't beat it for long enough?
Or because I haven't waited long enough for it to set? (I only waited around half an hour)
And could I remedy this by re-beating the mixture again?or is it a lost cause?

I don't think you have beaten it long enough.They only way to remedy your situation would be to melt it (heat gently in the microwave) and then beat again.I hope you have an electric beater!!It should be as thick as stiff whipped cream.
