Salty Ham

I roast mine, like any other large meat.I marinate/coat it in marmalade or apricot jam or honey and then slow cook.FANTASTIC RESULTS and you can just choose your flavour - based on what you have in your cupboard :-)This process apparently takes the chemicals right out of the 'ham' too.

Thanks sandy501 but the ham is already cooked prior to freezing.I am soaking in water today so see how it goes!

Freezing any food with salt in it accentuates the salt flavour.

Don't know the theory behind it but this is how it works!

I have a salty cooked ham that has been in freezer since Xmas. What should I do to try and get salt out?

Google says (more hints on there)

To remove salty taste in ham you can pour a fourth cup of water in a small bowl leave one side of ham in water for 50 sec. then the other side and you'll have a salt free ham for dinner

Seems unusual method but mayb worth a try.

Seems hard to believe that will happen in 100sec but will give anything a go! Thanks
