creeky1, I don't have a suggestion re a substitute for the celery seeds but I do have a suggestion as to where you should be able to find further supplies of celery seeds - do you have a Bin Inn nearby? - you should be able to find celery seeds there. :-))

celery seeds are one of the hardest to find and sam is correct, Bin Inn stores do sell it.

I needed some last week, went to 2 supermarkets and they had none so I substituted salt in recipe for celery salt, then a few days later I spotted celery seeds in Bin Inn

I had the same problem last year and substituted extra mustard seeds. Turned out fine. Have since stocked up on celery seeds. You seem to have more luck finding them in deli type shops rather than supermarkets these days.
