Real Gulyas does NOT have tomato in it at all! ! ! 1 1/2 pounds boneless chuck steak, trimmedand cut into 1-inch cubes 1 large onion, cut in half and sliced 1/4-inch thick 1 tablespoon sweetHungarian paprika 1 cup water, or enough to cover ingredients 1 large green pepper, seeded and quartered 1/4 teaspoon caraway seeds 2 bay leaves 4 potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes Salt and black pepper
Throw in pot and simmer till tender. May be served with a dollop of sour cream but it's optional. The colour comes from the paprika.

Thanks Lythande. Recipe was not on the site. I normally hate Food in a Minute Recipes, but this one looked very nice. I just made up my own version. Kids loved it.
