theymay also enjoy making these. If you do not have a cutter, make one , in the shape of a person , out of cardboard
Paper Doll Biscuits Makes: approx 30 dolls INGREDIENTS
2 cups (300g) plain flour 1 cup (220g) raw caster sugar pinch of salt 200g butter, softened 1 egg, lightly beaten
METHOD
Combine all ingredients in large bowl of electric mixer; beat until mixture forms a soft dough. Tip onto kitchen bench. Divide mixture into two. Shape into flat discs. If dough is very soft, you will need to refrigerate 30 mins, or until firm enough to roll.
Roll dough out between 2 sheets baking paper until 4mm thick; stamp out dolls using a doll or gingerbread man cutter. Place on lightly greased oven trays. Bake in moderate oven 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
To ice: Combine 1½ cups icing sugar mixture in a medium bowl with enough water to make a thick paste. Add a couple of drops of food colouring, if desired. Scrape icing into a small piping bag; pipe decorations onto biscuits as desired.
