Stewed Apricots

How much sugar & water do I use for a 1 kilo of apricots? Can anyone help... . . I wouldve thought cover apricots with water but not sure on sugar.

becky156, I tend to microwave cook/stew our fruit so I therefore use very little water and sugar to taste but the following is from my trusty old ~45 years old Manual Training book:-

"Prepare a syrup by boiling together ½ cup water and 2 tbsp sugar" - obviously you are going to need to use greater quantities than those but that should give you an idea of the water to sugar ratio. Note that ½ cup water = 8 tbsp so the ratio is 4 (water) : 1 (sugar). Hope that helps. :-))
