baked pear do i cut in half, etc what sort of sauce would be good

peel -cut in half- core neatly. parboil until almost tender. sprinkle with brown sugar. than grill till melted and bubbly. Serve with caramel sauce. yum. And no need to turn on the oven and waste power.

sweet wine sauces are great... or a nice hunk of cheese and maybe a spiced choc sauce.

i usually do poached pears in red wine/spices and use the remaining liquid as a sauce.

a quick sauce is to is use ribena diluted with abit of water & simmered with cinnamon, star anise, etc (if anyone asked, i will say i used casis, not ribena hehe)

They look way cooler if peeled and left whole (uncut) with the stalk still in the top
