Thanks so much for posting that recipe but for the cake part is it better to make a madiera cake or buy one
l don't think l have ever made one before
Arrowroot where will l find that at supermarket?

griffo4, I haven't bought any arrowroot for a while but, from memory, the last time I did buy some at the Pak n Save I usually go to here in Chch, it was in the same area or near to other items such as baking soda, cream of tartar, gelatine, etc. - if you'd like to see what you'd be looking for, have a look at:-

Arrowroot comes in a box from the supermarket. You can buy a madeira cake, but home made is also nice. The other option is pannetone which is a sweet italian bread, usually eaten at Christmas, so for me the madeira is far easier.
