I need a machine which will turn carrots and brocolli stalks into fine sticks. What do I buy for this ? Would be great if it could also grate cheese, carrot cabbage etc.

food processor or a good knife to chop them up finely, and a cheese grater

It is a mandoline you are thinking of which will give you julienne strips as well as slicing grating, cubing etc etc
