How do I set up the pastry (making a pie)

Found this recipe, just want to know how to "set up the pie". Do I oil the dish then put pastry down?

500 or so grams of diced steak of your choice.
250gms sliced mushrooms
2 sheets of puff pastry (or you can make your own)
1 packet of McCormicks Dianne sauce/gravy
Some diced onions

Preheat oven to 180

All you really need to do is brown the steak, add mushrooms & onions till they are soft.

Mix packet mix according to what it says on the packet - I think it is a cup of water maybe? ? Pour gravy mix into steak.

Then all you need to do is set up the pie and add the filling.

Bake in oven till pastry is golden brown (or till it is cooked to your liking)

woo I can cool after all. Didn't have onions but added bacon instead and it tasted soooo good mmm
