How do you make a domed cake???

spoeklet, Jun 6, 9:17am
I want to make this cake for my husband's birthday, but I need advice on what dish to use to make it domed. I don't know if a pyrex bowl would be safe in the oven. Has anyone got advice on what I can used to make such a rounded shape? It can be more rounded and higher than this and I would be ok with it. Thanks! ! !

Cook it in a metal mixing bowl or steamed pudding bowl.

Yes. . I'd do the same Tracy. . and pyrex is fine as it's designed for using in an oven. . it'll have 'pyrex' printed on the bottom if it's ovenproof.

Bake the cake until it's cooked when tested with a skewer. . and enjoy making a special cake for him. .

I have made it in a pyrex bowl and it was okay but I found I needed to adjust the cooking time. A steamed pudding bowl did a much better job.
