Not a recipe ~ help re candle wax please

Hi there. Have managed to get quite a bit of candle wax on an almost new velour dressing robe. Advice please on getting this off ~ should I just pick it off which, I suspect, might ruin the pile. Thanks in advance.

Best to scrape as much as you can of the fabric, then put toilet tissue, or kitchen roll on the wax area and gentle put then tip of awarm iron on it, the tissue will absorb the wax. But gently, ont want to damage the volour of the gown.

Thank you. Will try that tomorrow.

The advice from a velour manufacturer on google is NOT to use an iron, but try to break it into small parts if possible, remove it carefully as there is a risk of surface damage with velours, and if necessary treat a few times with benzine. I have successfully chipped candle wax off other fabrics after popping them briefly in the freezer.
