crystal_blaise, I always use our crockpot to cook corned silverside and I base the cooking time on 8-10 hours for a 1. 5 Kg piece of meat cooked on AUTO/LOW. Although I have never done so myself, according to the crockpot's instruction book, the alternative is to cook the same sized piece of meat on HIGH for 4-6 hours.

For me, about 7-8 hours in my crockpot. The long slow cooking makes for a very tender piece of meat. Rinse your meat well under cold running tap, I boil the jug, pop meat into crockpot and cover with the boiled water. I add to that approx 1 tbsp soft brown sugar, 1 tbsp malt vinegar, 1/2 doz whole cloves, two bay leaves and set it on high for about 6 hours then turn to low until ready to serve.
