in a recipe for kumara and bacon croquettes with a dairy ingredient such as cream cheese, cream or sour cream. The recipe calls for an egg but I have run out. Does anyone know what I could use to bind the mash mix? TIA

any of those things will be nice although the cream cheese you would have to mash with the kumera while warm to spread it through, as long as it is sticky enough to stick together any of those things will bind it ok.
