I have four large trees of fruit, far to many to eat and give away, does anyone have ideas of how I can use them. Have made paste, chutneys, and eaten raw. many thanks

Stewed with a bit of apple makes a nice crumble. A few years ago a lady gave me some persimmon dried. Beautiful. She peeled and sliced them and dried in the oven over night. Put in plastic bags then in an ice cream container and kept in the freezer.

Ours in Hastings are just starting to ripen. The first lot our tree has kept. Last year the persimmons we were offered to buy were past there best. I would say another week should do them a treat.

gdwitch. I use Digby laws recipe for persimmon chutney and also use his peach chutney recipes and substitute persimmons. you can google his recipes. not sure how to cut and paste onto here
