why is it sour?

I have made plum sauce using the same recipe for at least 10 years. This year it is sour, horrid tasting, why? . Can someone enlighten me please, and maybe suggest a remedy. Plums were from the same tree.

Thinks - and comes up with 'sugar left out' and/or 'vinegar miscalculated' or 'added twice'.

I would re-boil it and add sugar. Taste as you add after stirring, until right taste achieved. But then I like sweet sauces, pickles and chutneys.

I really feel for you to have this happen after all the work involved.
