Suggestions what to use instead of a muslin bag?

Making some tomato sauce and in the recipe it said to put the spices in a muslin bag. Is there anything else I could use? Thank you.

An old clean bit of rag or tea towel will do the trick

That was my first thought too (e.g. pillowcase - maybe given a quick boil to ensure its food cleanliness?) or alternatively if you have one of these I would think it would also work:-

I've used a double layer of chux cloth for larger spices like cloves & peppercorns.

Use old clean net curtaining.
