Has anyone heard of a recipe like this.?

Many many years ago our staff cafeteria used to serve a dish called "ham Swiss style". It was basically like two square slices of ham with a slice of cheese in the middle, then coated in breadcrumbs and fried or baked. It was really yummy ( although not very healthy I suspect) but I've never seen a recipe for it anywhere, as anyone ever heard if it?

pennyo, what you describe is a bit like the following, but without the turkey and not rolled but made into a sandwich with a second ham slice.

Hope that helps. :-))

Similar to Cordon Bleu using ham instead of veal or chicken schnitzel . ? If I was making it that is the basic recipe I would use.
