Stabilising cream

With a bit of gelatine and icing sugar ,has anyone tried the method as you can find in Google.Wondering if the taste is altered or not as I am thinking of doing so the night before 25 th DEC and making my trifle up.

Or have you tried putting a tablespoon of vanilla instant pudding mix in with cream toward the end of beating? Will stay together for a couple of days. It is the way I do it, anyway.

I think you can make your trifle up the night before just using the cream in the normal way moparpete. We often have left overs and they are fine for a day or two and the cream remains fine.
