Black and Red Currants

I've got rather small quantities of red currants and black currants left in my freezer, not enough for making jam, unfortunately. Would they be alright to use up in muffins or loaves instead of blueberries or are they too tart? What would you do with them? Won't be too long and the new lot will be ready. The bushes are only two years old and have not given me good quantities so far, hence these small lots of 300 or 400 g.

jymkrys, I haven't used either black or red currants in muffins or loaves but if I had the quantities that you have I would be looking at either using them in baking or a dessert or sauce of some kind. For some recipes have a look at:-

Hope that helps. :-))
