Sandwich bags

Has anyone tried toasted sandwich bags? I don't see how these can produce a crunchy sandwich. A HOT sandwich, perhaps, and the instructions on mine do not mention butter, which presumably would run to the bottom of the bag. I would be scared of ruining the toaster! Pardon my ignorance, I am no cook.

I have used the bags and yes, they do toast and crisp up (without any butter/oil) the sandwich just the same as they would in a sandwich maker. I do find though, if you use a lot of filling, or too-thick bread, it's difficult to get the sandwich into the bag. And although they're reusable, a couple of the bags have split, so aren't all that strong.

The novelty wore off for me after a few goes - but they do work!

Thanks for that. Might not be so bad after all!

Thanks again, Kaddiew. I just made a toasted sandwich for my lunch. Mince and cheese. Very nice! Then I got really adventurous and put an "Apple round" in. They are little apple tarts that I get from the supermarket. Came out just like hot apple pie! So I need not have worried. I was afraid to try the toaster bags.
