recipe for smoking trout please

Hi I got given a trout today and would like to smoke it tomorrow. Does anyone have any recipes what to cover it with before putting it in the smoker?

make a mixture of brown sugar and salt, And rub into trout, it is better if you let mixture soak in for a while

Trout has a more delicate and subtle texture and flavour than sea fish. It also is more suitable to grace a cracker with a bit of fennel and feta than smoked Kahawai it certainly is not as good for fish pie or similar so I think the classic salt and brown sugar is not quite there. I coat mine with a mix of honey salt and finely chopped and bruised fresh oregano. I soak over night and slow smoke. Good quality trout makes great sushimi and also is good for island style raw fish.
