the Scottish recipe, I am looking for a recipe that my grandmother would have used. Anyone have any idea what it could have been?

My Scots grandmother made potato scones and until a few years ago I made them regularly. The quantities are pretty flexible, but try 1 c mashed potato, 1/2 c plain white flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder. Cut the potato into the dry ingredients with a knife until it forms large crumbs then with your hands gently pat the mixture to form a soft dough. If it is too dry add a little cold milk. Gently pat out into a circle about half a cm thick, cut into six wedges. Cook in a buttered frying pan over medium heat until golden brown and cooked through.
