Chutney as a home made Gift

ian195, Dec 6, 12:38am
This year we are having our family Christmas at one of our daughter's house.
She has decided that instead of buying gifts this year we will be making our gifts.
We have some creative family members so I think people will be turning up with some different creations!
My husband has decided h
that he is going to make chutney this year. He has just made some tomato relish but we are thinking that he should make another one or two different varieties.
We would love to have some new tried and true recipes if anyone can spare the time to post back on here.
Will be most appreciated!

Ok. Here goes. Just had it on steak for dinner - yumm!
Lemon and Chilli Relish
6 medium lemons - preferably thinned skinned
2 onions finely chopped
5 cloves of garlic crushed
2 tsps. ground turmeric
1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
5 fresh bay leaves (I used dry)
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups water
1 tsp sea salt
Cut the ends off lemons. Thinly slice and remove pips. Put all ingredients into saucepan and bring to boil stirring to dissolve sugar.
Simmer gently for 40 mins. Stir occasionally until mixture is thick and glossy.
Remove from heat. Pour into sterilized jars.
It's a lovely colour and I hope you like it as much as I do!

Kamokamo relish or chutney, found the recipe from the internet, you won't believe that the humble Kamokamo taste so delicious in this form. I tried the same recipe with pumpkin but the Kamokamo turned out a winner with cheese and crackers. If interested Google it .
