OMG just made the pie tonight - just amazing - the one thing I will miss about winter is all the slow cooked red meats. However I am sure Summer will help me get over it until next year!

I know exactly what you mean. A while back I made a pie with left over lamb shank meat . cooked more than I could eat.as shanks, so 'pied'
Gave one to a mate who had had an op & wasn't up to cooking & she told me how good it was. Got one out of the freezer last night & it was absolutely just what the Dr ordered. BNut on the othe hand, I'm so enjoying the first tastes of spring!

Why can't you eat slow cooked meat in summer? Or pies? Goes extremely well with a mixed green salad or green bean salad or any other salad really.

Yes beef cheeks are great so tasty. We have crockpot and casseroles in the summer, not alot but they are a good filler and makes a nice change when you are just alittle over salads.
