My local New World and Paknsave both currently stock NZ Saveur brand duck fat in 450gm pottles for $12.99. It's in the fresh chicken chiiler.

Rice Bran Oil is available in aeosol cans, I keep one handy to the stove to spray spuds etc.

I use the spray can, instead of butter when using Filo pastry . it's maybe not quite the same, but I don't mind it.

Thanks, just visited but unfortunately shipping to the South Island is awful. $28.00 for two items (one duck fat, one jar of chili jam)

Has anyone used macadamia oil. It is delicious and has about the highest smoke point of any of the oils. Browns and crisps roast veges marvelously. well worth trying. I also use a plastic bag to toss the veges in as it is fairly expensive but well worth it.

I don't think I've ever seen macadamia oil . will keep an eye out for it.
