Hi all, really off the wall question here, but I bought some fresh marinated chicken yesterday from countdown, their peri peri one. Never bought it before and just went to put it in the oven, to find the whole marinade feels gritty, like sand had been dumped in it ! Felt awful and quite frankly wrong, I put the chicken in the oven anyway, and when cooked the skin now feels like a very fine sandpaper. Now having never made or really used peri peri before, I'm not sure, is it just me ? Is this how it's supposed to be ? My brain says surely not, but then it just may be I'm not used to this sauce base and it's all in my head. Hope someone can enlighten me & help me out here ! Have posted on countdown on FB but don't expect a reply today, which leaves me not eating food I'm not sure of . Any help much much MUCH appreciated and thanks in advance :))))
