What to do when added too much salt?

Is there anything you can add to a casserole to counteract a salty flavour (yes, it was me, too heavy handed with the shaker, doh). It has veges in it already but is yet to be thickened, so maybe that will mellow the salt! Hoping someone out there will have a solution!

I am sure that I read somewhere, that you add a potato which absorbs the salt.

potatoes work in too salty soup so guess if you have time slice thin potato and cook in the casserole

Yes, sliced potatoes can help absorb the salt, however you'd need to cook the casserole for a little longer when you have added them. I did read somewhere, some time ago, that a few spoonfuls of milk in a stew, or some soups, can cut the saltiness. I have never tried this though.

I've just sliced up some potato and put it in, they have an hour or so to their business! Cheers.

Thanks lurtz, great, I will use milk and flour to thicken it later on.willing to try, its been in the crock-pot all day and smelling blimmin good until I interfered.
