Making pastry

Can anyone tell me how to make good shortcrust pastry please!

I made some tonight for a pie, and it was very dry and crumbly and the kids didn't like it much. Or is it meant to be like that!

I use this recipe for my pies - pastry is always nice and not crumbly

75gm cold butter and 1 c flour zapped in the blender until it resembles breadcrumbs. Then add enough ice cold water smaal amounts at a time (with blender still going) until a firm dough forms.
I put in fridge to cool for 30mins and then roll out.Makes a small amount so when making a bigger pie I double the recipe

That sounds pretty simialr to what I did, amybe I didn't add enough water.

What would make it go crumbly, too much butter or not enough!
