Help jam set

If you add this to your jam do you have to wait for the set part, ie jam on plate to set or just do what the packet says bring to boil the pour in to jars ; it looks runny !

Pbranch, it may look runny now but if you have followed the instructions the jam should thicken as it cools. I had never used jamsetting mix until a few weeks ago but I noticed that the jam I made appeared very runny when poured into the jars but had set firmly, actually too firmly for my liking 24 hours later.

I do a test - just in case! Have started using jam set in all my jam this year as you do not have to boil for ages & jam seems to have a fruitier flavour.

I have found since Kings stopped making jam set you need two pkts instead of one. I think its Hansells now and for some reason have found it does not set as well.My jam is still runny but once it is in jars and cold it is fine.
