What is your bestest easy, jiffy, tried & true recipe - salads, mains, soups, sweets, desserts, sauces, biscuits, cakes, meats or anything at all.

Roast chicken. Get a chicken (free range, organic, anything) Place in roasting dish, without any oils, butter etc. Make a mix with salt and garum masala, about a teaspoon of each and sprinkle over the chicken. Chicken is breast side down. Cover dish with tin foil and roast for one and a half hours at 175C. Towards the end take off the foil and baste with the juices that have come from the chicken. That makes a really basic very yummy roast. Use the bones after dinner to make a stock if you want. This would be for about a size 14 to 18. Bigger chickens will take a bit longer. add a salad and some bread and you are done.
