How do you freeze your avocadoes?

uli, Dec 31, 8:02pm
Do you peel and chop them or freeze them whole in their skins!

I usually mash them with a bit of lemon or lime juice.

Have halved, peeled and stoned them, brushed with lemon and successfully frozen halves.

I didn't know that Avocados could be frozen, but they don't grow too well in the south so we never have a glut .handy to know for when they are on super special, though.

If I had a glut, I'd experiment and try several ways to see which worked best for me.

Here's the advice from http://www.nzavocado.co.nz/online/choosing_ripening_storing.csn

"Avocado can be pureed with lemon juice and frozen for up to four months."

Hope that helps and Happy New Year everyone.:-))

Are you serious!! Wow.and are they "as-good-as-new" when you go to thaw them out! Interesting.might try that.

You can buy frozen, halved skinless, stoneless avocadoes, so there's no reason why it can't be done. Lemon juice wash and freeze! Lucky you, having enough to freeze!

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Will be freezing some and report back!
