I have been asked to make an Insalata Caprese (tomato and mozarella salad) to take along to our Christmas Day lunch.Haven't made one before (let alone heard of it lol!)Can anyone please tell me do I just layer slices of tomato, mozarella and some fresh basil on top.Do I also use a dressing! If anyone can please help me out, I would be real grateful thanks :)

The most important thing is to get the best quality ingredients: ripe acid-free tomatoes, fresh mozzarella (ideally buffalo if you can find it), fresh basil leaves, top quality extra virgin olive oil, black pepper and flaky salt. All you need to do is slice the tomatoes (not too thinly), tear the mozzarella into chunks, separate the basil leaves and arrange them on a flat serving dish.Just before serving trickle over some really good olive oil (e.g. Village Press), a little flaky salt and grind on some black pepper.
