I have never read the ingredients list on a bag of Tasti Fruit Mix before, think I will make my own in future. Sugar, Glucose, Invert Sugar, Vegetable Gums (401,410,415) Firming Agents (341,339,450) Acid (575) Flavour, Preservative, Colours etc etc oh and some fruit and mixed peel and artificial cherries of course.

Yes, mix your own, I do, at least you will then know what goes into it. It's all those numbers in the ingredient list that I don't like and they also have those awful jelly cherries in there too.

for the first time in 30 odd years, I did mix my own. just thought I would go back to basics. hope cake is ok.AND i used to pick out all those plastic cherries and always added the ones in a packet.
