We have been given an Ice Cream Maker - I think it is a Sunbeam, but each time we make ice cream, it is so hard we have to cut it with a knife which is really difficult as it is so hard. Can someone please give me some tips and recipes to stop this happening, we have only made chocolate. We would like to be able to scoop it.

ours is the same but i just place container in a bowl of hot water. it still doesnt make it creamy though.

try a different ice cream recipe, or maybe your freezer is too cold! or add alcohol or more sugar.try david lebovitz ice cream recipes, he has a website and a book ' the perfect scoop'
