Beef stock.substitute?

Hi there,im making a steak casserole today .but just realised only stock i have at hand is chicken stock!
any suggestions/alternatives for a beef casserole You may have!

Spicy Beef Sauce
1 cup apple juice .4 tsp corn flour1 cup tomato sauce .1 med onion, chopped . 1 tsp salt.1/2 tsp celery seed.1/2 tsp turmeric.
1/4 tsp tabasco sauce.
Mix 2 tbsp apple juice with corn flour. Combine the rest of the apple juice with tomato sauce in saucepan.
Add onion, salt, celery seed, turmeric, and Tabasco.Cook 15 minutesGradually add apple juice-corn flour mixture. Cook 5 minutes longer.
Pour over steak casserole . and cook until tender.

vegemite! I use it in vegetarian recipes to get a beef flavour.

Are you talking about liquid beef stock or powdered!

just use the chicken stock, it will still taste good

For powderd: Couple of tsps of Bisto.or a gravy sachet! Mushroom soup! Pkt French onion soup!
Anything along that line would do.I often add a touch of worschester sauce and any good herbs that I have:Bay leaves, Tarragon,.

I always keep a packet of maggi oxtail soup for casseroles better than stock.
