Ordinary icing.icing sugar.butter.hot water.and colour.this would be my choice.

Or butter cream. Add cocoa to it to darken it first before adding your black food colouring

Satinice make a black fondant, as do Bakels. You can make black butter cream or royal icing, but it takes HEAPS of gel colour to make it dark. The cocoa idea is a good one. Especially the Homebrand cocoa, which is the darkest.
