Wanting to make the slice today, but I'm out of coconut. I'm not really a big fan of coconut anyway, but will the slice be affected without it!

I would put an extra 1/2 cup of rolled oats in the mixture to make up for the coconut.otherwise the mixture will be too wet for the golden syrup and butter.Hope this helps

Yep make up the volume with extra dry ingredients - I have used sunflower and pumpkin seeds with some dried fruit in the past but you could also use nuts I think from what I recall of the recipe.But thanks for reminding me to buy coconut!
